Thank you for stopping by. I just started this blog so it may look a bit plain for the time being. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Sarah. I'm 33 years old and I'm from Dayton, Ohio. I started a fashion magazine called Skylar 8 years ago, it was in print up until a few years ago. I put it together myself from home and sold it through the Internet. The first issue was released in 2005 on my Birthday, July 19th. It did pretty good for a unknown publication and it was a lot of fun doing it in the beginning. After a while it became too expensive and stressful. It wasn't so much the expensive part that made me decide to put it online in a blog, the main factor had to do with time and not having enough people to help me with everything.
Last year I attempted to do a new issue and I came to the conclusion it was just not going to happen. My printer stopped functioning properly and I had to try something else. I didn't want to give up on it altogether, I still had so much confidence in it and I still felt that it had the potential to become successful. I put the magazine on hiatus, but started a blog dedicated to it so that I could keep people updated on my progress. It gave me a chance to do a lot more research and get myself more organized. Turning it into an online blog-magazine seemed to be the way to go.
Paper magazines are on their way out, they are so expensive, as much as I loved reading them, why would I want to pay 6 bucks or more when I can find a lot of the same stuff on the Internet for free? The Blog World is booming and it seemed like it would be a better way to reach more people. There is an important message that I am trying to send to people and this seemed to be the best way to do it. So, Skylar is now an online blog-magazine and it is now available for free. Doing it this way is saving me a lot more money and I won't have to go out and buy a brand new printer.
You can read more about me and Skylar on my other blog. For now I want to focus more on what this blog is all about. Pretty & Petite is for petite girls interested in pursuing a career in modeling and I am also looking for people interested in modeling for me. There are different divisions including this one for Petite models. I am also looking for the Tall and Naturally Skinny models as well as Plus Sized models. All shapes and sizes are welcome.
In order to qualify as a petite model you need to be 5'5" or shorter. There are petite girls who are just plain petite, there are those who are more on the average/short side and there are also petite-plus sized girls, I am looking for all of these. I am offering pay to my models, you can find out more about that on my other blog on the modeling information page. If you are interested follow the directions on the page. If you are confused after reading the information, aren't sure what to do you can always email me at skylarmagazine.sarah@gmail.com.
I am also on Facebook.com/skylarmag you are welcome to add me or contact me there. Again, thank you for stopping by, be sure to follow and check back for updates.
